Xpose is happy to launch a new element to the site, as you are all aware there are big changes coming and one of this biggest is going to be VIDEO. When we head out, along side of the camera we are now armed with a video camera. What better place to have our first test run than with an Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes.

Jimmy Barnes completed his first major theatre tour in over a decade, promoting his new book,
Icons of Australian Music: Jimmy Barnes.

His final Australian show before he travels to London, The Netherlands and Germany, he came to the Top End and Darwin came out in droves with full support.

It was Friday 5th Sept, and Discovery Nightclub opened its doors from 8:30pm to a full capacity. I was expecting to go to Jimmy Barnes & I’ll be honest, to be confronted with long beards, loads of tattoos, bad BO and a complete lack of understanding about how to conduct yourself in a crowd.

To my amazement and delight, the crowd were all well-behaved, courteous, full of energy and fun. Young girls were at the front row singing the words to all the classics, “He’s a working class man” youtube below sticks in my mind.

Everyone was with a big smile as they moved out of the way and allowed me to get through to the front of the crowd with my camera.

There was a moment where I got to the front of the crowd and there was a girl standing in front of me. I didn’t want to steal her spot so I passed her my video camera and she was only too happy to help out. So thanks Amanda Chao, it was a great help.

Discovery Nightclub, as usual were very accommodating and a great help allowing Xpose to get great vantage points with back stage and all over the club. Thanks Fleur.

Darwin you were fantastic, I don’t think I can say much more than that.

We have some great images of all of you so be sure to check out the gallery.

The music was great and we all had a lot of fun. Jimmy you rocked out! Thanks.
